01 Feb Be Still

The word says “he that findeth a wife findeth a good thing.” Good word, right? Then why is it so hard for women to be found and men to find? There’s a song that says “looking for love in all the wrong places,” I don’t think it’s so much the wrong places as it is the wrong faces.
Most women want a man that’s tall, dark and handsome with no flaws and imperfections; a doctor, lawyer, ball player, it doesn’t matter whether he’s real or not, saved and committed to God, as long as he’s got money, honey! Men, on the other hand, have this misconception that if she’s built like Beyonce, looks like Halle, with long, “good” hair they’ll be accepted more by their peers. Answer this for me, what is “good” hair anyway and who started that terminology. Hair is hair. You permit or you don’t. You’ll buy it or you won’t. Sorry, I digress.
That’s fine if that’s what GOD gave you, but when you seek superficial and not substance, morals, scruples, honesty, one who will love you till the end, is saved, not safe; a down brother, not a down low, is a hard-working real man or woman of God, that’s a blessing in itself. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with Beyonce or Halle, nor is there anything wrong with Boris, Morris, Shemar, or Denzel; but to base your reason for being with a man/woman because of that is a train wreck waiting to happen.
Just focus on your relationship with God first and before you know it- BAM! There he/she is. Then again for some of you, they’re right there. Right in front of you. God showed them to you, but you can’t see them. It’s like you have cataracts, your vision is clouded and you can’t see clearly or you just simply missed it. If you have sought the Lord and you’re truly hearing “His” voice, not your boys or your girls’ voices, then you will be blessed far beyond measure with what you need, just be still.
