We all come to a point in our lives when we must face reality and stop living in our own little make-believe world. Sure, we keep hearing the FAITH messages come across the pulpit, but are we truly applying what we hear? We hear, “Go apply again”, but we can’t fill the application out correctly. We hear, “Go get the car”, but we go to a “buy here-pay here” place. Single ladies, we hear “You’re going to get married”, however, not can’t we not cook, but we don’t even have any prospects, even if we wanted to learn how to cook!

Now, you tell me, “Are we like Dorothy when she came to a crossroad in her life?” Her own insecurities and struggles overtaking her to the point where she thought she could only depend on a little man behind a big mask, and a puppy? We all have struggles, yes, each and everyone one of us, whether we’re Parents, Pastors, Teachers, Politician’s, Entrepreneurs, etc. Proverbs 3:5, “Lean not on your own understanding; but, in all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.”

Don’t let the winds of life blow you away to allow you to feel you have to carry something that easily gets distracted. Don’t pick up a stray cat along the road, or someone who appears to be strong, but at the first sign of rain they will freeze up on you. Don’t allow anyone in your circle that is so fearful they cannot stand up on their own two legs. Listen, there comes a time when we have to get off the deserted yellow brick road and take a detour to the road of possibilities.

First, you need a brain. James 1:5 says, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

Second, you need a heart; 1 John 4:7 says, “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God, and every one that loveth is born of God and knoweth God.”

Third, but not least you need courage: Deuteronomy 31:6 says, “Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”

So, now you have it. You can now wake up from the dream and begin turning your God-given visions into reality. Sure, there will be scarecrows, witches, and even flying monkeys, but God will elevate you in the natural and the spiritual to be all He has ordained you to be. Remember, if the Lord has called and sent you, He will equip you with the power of the Holy Ghost.  And…it is nothing magical about that!
